Dear Reader,

My name is Debra Mullins, and I am an Atlantis nerd.

I’ve always been fascinated by stories and theories about Atlantis. I remember watching that old TV show, The Man from Atlantis, starring a pre-Dallas Patrick Duffy, about a man who could breathe under water. He couldn’t remember where he was from (of course), but the implication throughout the series was that he was from Atlantis.

But it was in high school Spanish class that the germ of the idea for the TruthSeers series first glimmered in my mind. Besides being an Atlantis nerd, I am also a language nerd. (In high school, I took three foreign languages at onceā€”for fun.) In Spanish class one day, my teacher told us about the Basque region of Spain. The language of the Basque people is unlike any other language on Earth, and the local legend goes that the Basques are actually the survivors of Atlantis.

That got me thinking. Whether or not the legend is true, let’s say some people from Atlantis really did escape the cataclysm that destroyed their city. Maybe they made it to other lands. Maybe they integrated with the societies there. Maybe some people weren’t even at home in Atlantis. Maybe they were on vacation or on a diplomatic mission somewhere else, or maybe they were just sailors who were at sea. What if someone survived? And what if they had special abilities that they had to keep hidden?

What if. The two words that bring stories to life.

I started building on that idea. I designed my version of the society of Atlantis, using Plato as a guide. I decided there were super humans there, gifted with different abilities to help guard human kind. I even decided how Atlantis was destroyed, and who was responsible.

The result is the TruthSeers trilogy. PRODIGAL SON is the first book, where we follow Seer Rafe Montana as he searches for a bail jumper but discovers more about his own Atlantean heritage than he ever imagined.

I hope you enjoy the journey!

Here's a little more about Prodigal Son:

Bounty hunter Rafe Montana is a Seer who uses his powers to find criminals no matter where they are hiding, anywhere in the world. His latest case: track down Danny Cangialosi, who disappeared with a stolen car...but for the first time in his life, when Rafe goes looking, he is unable to "see" his target. Instead, his search leads him to Danny's stubborn, meddling and very cute stepsister, Cara McGaffigan.

Cara's looking for Danny, too, but not to turn him in. He is her brother, after all, and she's convinced that if she can just find him before the cops do, she'll figure out a way to get him out of trouble. But Cara didn't count on a scorching-hot bounty hunter getting in her way.

Despite instant chemistry, Rafe and Cara know they're never going to see eye-to-eye when it comes to Danny. What they don't know is that Danny didn't just steal a car--he stole a precious stone, a stone right out of the legends of Atlantis. It holds undreamed-of powers...and its owner wants it back.
